WE have now begun our long road trip to see the northern part of Spain. It will be a lot of driving with our crazy kids but so far they have been great travelers soo... we will see.
Our First stop was Valencia: During our first week in Spain as we stayed in Madrid we met a family from California and spent some time with them. They live in Valencia so they were wonderful enough to host us on our adventure in Valencia.
We saw the cathedral and an amazing church called San Nicolas, The ceiling was so beautiful and the shape of the curves were mesmerizing.
We made a stop at the central market and got a few great snacks (dried fruit that was divine). Then our Friends took us to an amazing park that was based on the iconic scene in Gullivers Travels. It was a huge Gulliver made into a park. The kids could have spent all day there just playing and exploring.
After we drug them away from that we had to go see the City of Arts and Science area. It was really beautiful and hard to represent in a photo. It was a vast and sprawling area of ponds and building, gardens and paths. It really was cool.
Oh and we stopped at this great little event that was going on the middle of the city and got fun hats for 1 euro. Also on the way home we came across and Andaluza Fair.
It really was a wonderful day and we were so taken care of by our wonderful friends.
