A Chance Meeting to Calm the Nerves.

Tomorrow will be a big day!!  We have the paperwork in order and the kids will be starting school in the morning.  As you can imagine there are many different emotions running through our house.  One of the most nervous of the children has been Miranda.  We did get to settle some of her fear about school today.  We first thought that Miranda would have to ride a bus to another town for school and now found out that her age group still stays in town which is a great relief to her.  She has also been worried about making friends.  She is smart enough to notice that it is easier to make friends the younger you are.   When you are Makenna's age you just walk up to someone that say "do you want to play" and you are instantly friends.  Well today was a great blessing and miracle in her life.
We went to the local soccer fields to find out some info on afterschool programs and while we were there Miranda was following Kaden around a little ways away from us and when I turned around she was surrounded by a large group of students that looked to be her age.  They had come to say "Hi" and be friendly.   They invited her to go inside to play basketball with them.  It was so amazing.  She brought Kaden over to me and had an overwhelmed look on her face.  I could tell she didn't want to go with them but I knew that she should go with them.  So... I sent her off to make some friends.  Funny enough she was most nervous about trying to play basketball with them. She liked to shoot hoops but nothing more and she had in her imagination that they were going to go in and have some kind of intense basketball game.
In the end one of the girls asked her if she even wanted to play or if she just wanted to sit and talk (she chose to talk).  Through the little Spanish Miranda Knows and the Little English they know (also Google translate on their phone)  They were able to have a conversation and feel like friends.  Miranda is already feeling much better about school in the morning.  She knows the kids are nice and she already has a friend.  I love it!!!!
