We took a little trip today. Our little town of Chucena is only about 30 minutes from Sevilla Spain. There is so much to see in Sevilla and we will be back many times so we took the time to see only two of the large sight.
First the Royal Alcazar.
There is so much history in this palace, and so many different generations that have added to the building. Romans, Muslims, and Christian History is easy to see as we walk through the halls. It really is amazing.
The detail work is hard to see in the pictures but the details in every archway, hallway, ceiling, and floor is exquisite.
This is a large cistern under the entire building and the kids instantly decided it was the chamber of secrets. It had a fun feeling down there that made it feel like the Chamber of Secrets from Harry Potter.
The gardens were by far the most favorite part of the day. We spent hours playing and walking in them. Steven's funny look of delight was as he was playing hide and go seek tag with the kids in a tall maze of manicured shrubs. The kids wanted to stay and play forever.
The above picture is the room that Christopher Columbus stood in as he reported back to Ferdinand and Isabel after his first trip to the American Continent.
