The Three Kings Day celebration continues. One of the other major traditions of this major holiday is Tres Reyes Cake. It is sort of like a fruit cake. We have now eaten 3 cakes so that we could try a few different kinds. The first was a plain cake, the second was filled with cream, and the third was filled with three different types of cream. All of them were delicious. The real tradition with these cakes is each of them have two things hidden inside the cake. One of them is a small prize and the other is a bean. The person who gets the prize gets a crown and gets "To Be King" for the day. If you get the bean it means that you pay for the cake.
Miranda got it the first time with a figure of one of the wise men, Kaden got a figure of a small van, and Jackson got a figure of a Mr. Potato Head.
The first time we ate the cake Makenna got the bean and she was so excited to get one of the hidden objects she didn't care what it was. Her delight made it so fun to get the bean that Kaden kept eating the cake saying "bean, bean". All the kids were just excited to have something fun hidden in their cake.
We also opened their presents that they got from the three Kings last night. It was a great day as we celebrate the Birth of our Savior Jesus Christ and the Wise Men that worked hard for many years to seek him. What a great example to us to always be striving to Seek our Savior.

Wait!! No crown for Miranda?
